Ain’t mis-behoovin’

Behoove = to be necessary, proper, or advantageous for… I am done with proper and necessary, however I am all about advantageous. I am inspired to do something I have never done, and since I have never done it before, I’m kinda winging it and the thoughts and feelings associated with it are incredible.

“I think the reward for conformity is that everyone likes you except yourself.” ~ Rita Mae Brown

I was raised a gentleman, even as I young boy I realized that respect and admiration for all people was a better course. This is not to say that people’s choices and their paths to better themselves as human beings confounds me at times, it was more an awareness that we all have a different heart and a different mind, yet no less need for our acceptance.

“I’m sick of just liking people. I wish to God I could meet somebody I could respect.” ~ J.D. Salinger

The subject of course is that of rising to the occasion, making a decision to break free from the handouts available and take stock in all that we are capable of. The human potential factor in all our lives can become diminished due to external factors and we cab be beaten down or overwhelmed by the poor economic outlook or the price of gas and groceries. It’s time to break free and follow a path less traveled…

“To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one’s self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived – this is to have succeeded.” ~ Bessie Anderson Stanley

To rise above and beyond our perceived situation is really about us and our own internal fire. The possibilities cannot be dissuaded by the input of others, the news, the weather, the jealousy of other’s success for it is within that we can make changes to promote our deep understanding of all that we can be. A paradigm shift towards what we should be thankful for and away from our plight can and will open doors to a different experience of today and tomorrow.

“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” ~ Thomas Edison

Using examples of historical accomplishments are a god send for me and this appreciation of what others have accomplished has been and will continue to be an inspiration. Thomas Edison clearly states that his success was determined by the fact that he was willing to fail so many times, and Babe Ruth who had more home runs than any other ball player also set the record for striking out at the plate.

An event of acceptance and understanding of the true beauty of our existence reawakened is the very first and most important step to view life to be shaken and redirected from being concerned to an acceptance of our free spirit. With this new and more clear view of the possibilities, we should then discover that it is in our actions that the change in world will be accomplished. Progress is a matter of activity…

“It behooves every man to remember that the work of the critic is of altogether secondary importance, and that, in the end, progress is accomplished by the man who does things.” – Theodore Roosevelt

I am reminded too that we are a creative bunch and that with the silence of a creative spirit in us all, we are not empowered to achieve that which has not been achieved. The child in us all must be awakened and our ability to touch silliness and grins of mischief must be allowed to seep into our old bones. I am inspired to change and heal myself, but that does not require that I be all that serious, for without the component of laughter, life can indeed be painful and far too short.

Within our passion to connect with myself and my desire to improve other’s existence too which will allow for a better understanding of our own limitations, for as we adopt and accept a positive mantra for life, in love, with hope, to welcome laughter and to be truly limitless, our view of all things improves and our concerns wane and soften.

“Never stay up on the barren heights of cleverness, but come down into the green valleys of silliness.” ~ Ludwig Wittenstein

Reawaken your romance within yourself and with your life for –

“The very essence of romance is uncertainty.” ~ Oscar Wilde
