While searching for answers to some rather perplexing questions about why people do what they do, what motivates them to make certain potentially life altering decisions and WHY. I continue my journey of understanding mankind…
What’s even more baffling, how and why we choose who we will love and potentially live with for the rest of our lives, I have learned more than a few valuable lessons.
“Most people don’t grow up. Most people age. They find parking spaces, honor their credit cards, get married, have children, and call that maturity. What that is, is aging.” ~ Maya Angelou
There are a myriad of choices that are steeped in the mystery surrounding almost every single thought, emotion and outside influence in a given day.
I have followed my heart on more than one occasion and have possibly had more than my share of success in doing so. I am now on a mission to understand better how we can and should better access a balance of senses (heart, mind and soul) to make the best determinations and decisions.
“Our capacity to make peace with another person and with the world depends very much on our capacity to make peace with ourselves.” ~ Thich Nhat Hanh
Based on the extremely sad truths we face in our country although rare, I have a sinking feeling that many more than we can imagine are in need of help. We must make peace with ourselves first however, then reach out to others with a helping hand of compassion.
Our pasts are truly and most obviously a roadmap for how we think and feel about ourselves and the others in our lives. How we interact with and attempt to tackle the challengers and adventures offered to us as we move along on this too short journey of life. Typically choose to meet our challenges head on or prefer a less stressful plan of attack based on how we were raised.
“We are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be.” ~ C.S. Lewis
Our lives will hopefully be filled with the grandest of struggles meant to educate our minds and the lessons retained within our souls. Taking the time to step back and recognize our strengths and plan a series of steps that will show us the best answer is required, don’t forget to give thanks daily.
The hurdles found along the way will change as we walk our chosen path and these choices would be different depending on if we take the first steps today or tomorrow.
Life is a collection of moments, live each one as it is your best and last…
