The Western Way

ranch lifeAn opportunity can be seen from many different viewpoints, depending on your awareness and experience in similar if not completely different stages of your life.

An event or occasion  can be welcomed, cherished or discarded depending on your consideration and examination of and the many factors involved.

“We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.” ~ Herman Melville

In wanting to accept more willingly that life is indeed a giving, rewarding and an enlightening experience the practice of seeing every angle, every facet and every potential avenue for growth and understanding is the key to happiness.

The move away from the west coast and into more the heart of America will bring with it new experiences and opportunities, and for this intrepid soul a search for life via a new awareness. Even the very early stages of intent have brought a welcoming of those who seem excited and welcoming of my intentions.

It is apparent in their eyes and their smiles why they have moved away from the crowds, the traffic, the need to seek therapy or the addiction to medications to sooth their souls. They are more interested in treating kindly the issues, than they are masking the symptoms.

It truly is all about a connection of community and of involvement in the basics of life via amazingly helpful friends that will hold a connection of knowledge sometimes passed by with the demands of urban life.

“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.” ~ Mother Teresa

From an understanding derived from what was advertised as being the norm, the adoption of a minset that less is more prevails and inspires. A more manageable existence should make room for the laughter felt at the gut level, the happiness associated with conversation and the sharing of life’s stories will prevail in the day to day in country life.

“A good friend is a connection to life – a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world.” ~ Lois Wyse

Having received so many messages of invitation and the welcoming of new friends is at the heart of this region of America and one that I see to be the bulk of who we are. It is at the core of what we used to be, the honest connection of the sharing of struggles and triumphs and in the anticipation of seasons.

The gifts of mother nature and the potential to deposit more of the wonders of life into our memories and pass them down to our children is obvious.
